The Sunrise 34 is a 1984 design by Jacques Fauroux, and is typical of Jeanneau designs of the period - a clean-lined and fast hull form, with a definite performance edge over comparable sized Beneteau cruising models, and a teak interior. These slightly older Jeanneaus share a distinct family resemblance to some much more recent current Jeanneau models, but may actually be better sailing boats thanks to narrower stern sections allowing better hull balance. The design later evolved into the current 'Sun Odyssey' and 'Sun Fast' ranges, with the more cruising-orientated models designated 'Sun Odyssey', and 'Sun Fast' for the racier versions.

Contemporary reviews rated the Sunrise 34 as fast, well mannered and easily handled, although the sleek lines led to a little lower headroom below than some other models. 'Yachting Monthly' described the Sunrise 34 as ".... a pleasure to sail and extremely well balanced", and 'Sailing Today' said the design '…. soon gained a reputation for being able to take on outright racing machines with some success.'

She sails on private NYC sailboat charters for groups of up to six people from the Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City or Pier 25 in Lower Manhattan to the Upper and Lower Bays of New York Harbor, the Hudson River and East River, Lady Liberty and Ellis Island, Downtown Manhattan, and the Verrazano Bridge.
